Lawn Fertilizer
Like any living organism, your grass needs the right nutrients to stay healthy. Fertilizer provides the nitrogen and other nutrients that your lawn needs to grow thick and beautiful. Healthy grass not only looks better, it is also able to better resist weeds, drought, disease, and other stress. Because the grass uses up these nutrients as it grows, it is important to add fertilizer several times per year.
Our lawn applications include the amounts and types of nitrogen and other nutrients your lawn needs to stay green all season long. We use Lesco premium granular fertilizers and adjust our treatment according to the season. We recommend 4-6 applications per year.
- Early spring (1-2 applications): Quick-release nitrogen helps your grass come out of dormancy and start growing
- Late spring (1-2 applications): Slow-release nitrogen to keep grass strong throughout the summer & iron to give grass a deep green color
- Summer (1 application): Slow-release nitrogen for continued health (only recommended for lawns that receive adequate watering, to avoid stressing drought-affected grass)
- Fall (1-2 applications): An extra helping of nitrogen to store energy during the winter, for healthier, greener grass in the spring.
Most of our fertilizer applications also include herbicide to ensure that the only thing growing in your lawn is healthy, green grass. Learn more about our weed control.
